In Costa Mesa, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across California, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 am–4 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (714) 494-9609. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is boilbake.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Costa Mesa is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Costa Mesa follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The staff and the patrons were very pleasant. The bagels tasted fresh and nicely chewy. We split the OG and the lox on a bagel. Both were very good and they ranged from $14 to $21. The location is good near the OC John Wayne airport. It was busy during lunch, however they handled it well.

Everything was exceptionally good. I decided on The Dodger which was fresh, delicious, and everything a smoked salmon bagel should be. My partner always goes for a basic sesame with cream cheese and said it’s the best he’s had on the West Coast. Even the fresh orange juice was delicious. I wish we lived closer as we’d be here super frequently. Don’t miss out on this Costa Mesa gem!!!

Absolutely delicious bagels! A bit of a wait but very worth it. I got a Santa Monica which was on the smaller side, but not egregiously so β€” the flavor / texture was very much on point. My partner got the garden which wasn’t the easiest to eat but was incredibly fresh and delicious. Would love to come back sometime.

Had a bagel from here two weeks ago while on a work trip and can’t stop thinking about it, so I’m back to leave a review! Ordered The Garden and after just a few bites, I knew it was making it on my all-time favorite bagels list. Every single ingredient tasted so fresh and high quality. All together, It was a symphony of flavors. Service was fast and nice. I took this to-go but would have loved to enjoy the outdoor patio space if I had the time.

After hearing about this spot for over a year, I finally had the chance to visit β€” and unfortunately, it did not live up to the anticipation. I tried the lox bagel, and while it was good and well-executed, there was nothing particularly memorable or exceptional about it. The presentation was polished, and the outdoor seating area created a pleasant atmosphere, but beyond that, the experience felt underwhelming. I have no issue paying around $20 for a bagel if the quality, portion, or overall experience justifies the price. In this case, however, the value simply was not there.
